We spent a week at Bailey Island at the Martin-Summer’s cottage. It’s a typical summer place in Maine, situated right on the rocky coast, which made for a nice place to relax. The weather was mostly good — a few thunderstorms — but mostly enjoyable. One late afternoon shower produced a diaphanous double rainbow.
There were a few trips to Freeport, Bath and Brunswick. Unfortunately, the local antique stores only relinquished a few treasures. A favorite activity by young and old was watercolor painting. The scenery provided ample opportunities to find something to paint and provided plenty of inspiration.
